Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, London
Visited August 2016
This one of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries in London is, of course, one I’ve visited a number of times before, but there’s always something new to see. It’s managed for wildlife and education, so is more overgrown in parts than the others (except Abney Park), and different parts seem to be accessible each visit as paths open or the seasons change. The day I took these photos the sun was shining and the butterflies and bees were out in force.
Being in the East End, the graves here tend to be smaller and less ostentatious than in some such as Highgate where the great and the good are buried, but that can make it all the more fascinating to walk round, as the stories on the graves somehow seem all the more human.
