Postman's Park, City of London

Postman's Park, City of London
visited April 2009

Postman's Park in the City of London is a small park built on land which was formerly the burial grounds of 3 churches - St Botolph Aldersgate (this church still stands, and can be visited in the park), Christ Church Greyfriars and St Leonard Foster. Some gravestones have been cleared and stand around the edges of the park. The main attraction is The Memorial to Heroic Self Sacrifice, designed by the artist George Frederic Watts in 1900. There are currently 54 tiles memorial tiles - the last was added in 2009, shortly after this visit.
